Initial character design and art is done with Adobe Illustrator, building out a puppet file with movable parts for articulation of the face, arms and legs.

Once the puppet is completely constructed, I load it into Character Animator, a versatile tool for composing and coordinating scenes with one or more characters. The puppet can then be rigged up to exhibit various behaviors that, with some tweaking, can bring the puppet to life.
Once rigged, the puppets will be dropped into scenes with backdrops set pieces as seen in the (very rough) sketches included below
